Mass email migration from local pop3 (thunderbird) client to imap or exchange client (zimbra) while preserving folder structure

May 27th, 2014 | By

Well this one is a serious doozy, here’s the situation: I have been using thunderbird via pop3 and organizing all of the emails manually into folders locally over the past 3-4 years This has resulted in close to 100,000 emails(or 6 check out this site.9GB) being organized and sorted manually or through filters into a

How to change the default Zimbra theme for all users

May 26th, 2014 | By

Well this one is kind of a hack as you aren’t changing the default theme from Carbon to something else you are just renaming the directory name of one of the other themes to carbon(or creating a symlink) to fool zimbra into thinking a theme is carbon when it’s actually not.  Anyhow this is how

Why is my zimbra.log full of maildrop errors?

May 25th, 2014 | By

Checked on my zimbra log today and found a ton of these: warning: mail_queue_enter: create file maildrop/858267.11154: No such file or directory   Now there could be two solutions to this problem, for me it was as simple as going into /opt/zimbra/bin and running #postfix stop checking for any lingering postfix processes that aren’t shutting

Setting up email forwards in Zimbra with zmprov

May 24th, 2014 | By

http://www.zimbra.com/forums/administrators/10857-how-create-mail-forward-only.html   The best way to do this is a way where you aren’t creating additional accounts for each forward as some zimbra licenses have limited accounts.  What you want to do is setup distribution lists like so: # zmprov createDistributionList user@domain.com # zmprov addDistributionListMember user@domain.com someone@else.com   Now keep in mind you have to add the domain

How to add a new domain to a Zimbra install and then a new account to the domain

May 24th, 2014 | By

Ok, so you’ve got your zimbra server pretty much up and running and seeing as you’re just like me and had to take a production email server offline and retrofit it like this you have a dozen or two busy email accounts that have been rejecting emails for the past 12 hours and that needs

Migrating away from postfix/dovecot to Zimbra 8 on a Debian 6 server

May 24th, 2014 | By

What a better way to spend a glorious sunny saturday afternoon than trying to get a very complicated open source exchange platform to run on a production server powered by an OS that isn’t supported?  As with all things me, there’s no easy way to go about doing this so I’m digging in my heels

Browser hijacked? Random tabs created with ads? Think it’s malware? Think again

May 24th, 2014 | By

So the past couple of weeks I’ve gone through a fun little experience that looked a lot like a malware infection that I couldn’t be cleaned.  I ran every tool in the book and nothing seemed to prevent these tabs from opening up in Chrome with links to these bullshit pages telling me to upgrade

How to prevent Gravity Forms input button placement

Mar 17th, 2014 | By

If you use gf_left_third or anything else that’s moving elements around and resizing them you could run into the trouble where the submit, next or previous buttons no longer stay at the bottom but jump up into your design.  To fix this you just need to insert this into your themes style.css file body .gform_wrapper

How to change the background and hover background color on dropdowns and multi selects in Gravity forms

Mar 17th, 2014 | By

This might be one of the more obscure solutions I post but I imagine I’ll need to reference this later and save myself the 2 hours of searching around it took me today.  So if you want to change the background color for dropdowns go into formsmain.css and go change the following:   First ot
