Secret world MMORPG – Interesting concept, good PR work going on

While there isn’t a whole lot of info on their website I’ve dug up a bit of info on this titalating new project from funcom set to be released on the Xbox360 and PC

Instead of leveling up, characters will progress by learning new skills, such as new combat moves, or spells. Nothing was really said in terms of combat, but Funcom did share that it would be a lot more involved than typical MMO fighting, and it will require active participation. As they put it, it will be “the next step from ‘Age of Conan.'” Feeling involved and powerful from the first moment you begin to when you finally learn the horrifying secrets of the world is a big key to the developers, as they don’t want people to have to play for months, just to get to the point where “the real game begins.” The animations and appearance of the skills at your disposal — and the way you activate them — will go a long way toward making the journey just as important as the destination.

Lastly I found this Video that is related to the game, albeit cryptically

  1. Aaron says:

One of the main things keeping many gamers out of the MMO market is the idea that they have to work the game before they can play the game. I’m looking forward to hearing more about this one.
